Stephanie McLeod
BN, MN, NP
Stephanie is a graduate of Athabasca University at Mt. Royal College, Bachelor of Nursing program in 2007. Continuing her education, Stephanie graduated from the Athabasca University Masters of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner program in 2019. She has a strong desire for patient centred education and empowerment.
The large majority of her career was spent in the Department of Critical Care, working in the Intensive Care/Coronary Care unit at Rockyview Hospital, as a nurse and a Nurse Clinician. While in ICU, she also taught nursing clinical part time at Mount Royal 2009-2016. Steph spent two years nursing in the NWT and Yukon, while her husband was a bush pilot before returning to Calgary after the birth of their first son. Steph was the chair of the Delirium Committee, which rolled out a province wide ICU delirium prevention program in 2018.
Her desire to continue learning led her to become an NP, where she worked for the Department of Cardiac Sciences on unit 91 at FMC. She’s always had a keen interest in neurology and, after many years of “waiting for the right time,” she finally made the switch after returning from maternity leave and is excited to join the Alberta Neurologic Centre team!
In her spare time, Steph is a wife and mom to three young boys. She is a strong advocate for the special needs community, as a mom of a complex medical and hard of hearing child. In downtime, the McLeod family can be found camping, boating and learning ASL!
