Dr. Kimia Ghavami
Dr. Kimia Ghavami grew up in Calgary, Alberta before moving to Kingston, Ontario to complete her undergraduate degree in Life Sciences at Queen’s University as a Chancellor’s Scholarship recipient. She returned home to complete her medical degree at the University of Calgary in 2016. Her passion for the mysteries of the brain led her to pursue a residency in Neurology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver British Columbia, serving as chief resident in her senior year.
Her areas of interest include stroke and vascular neurology, as well as global health- having travelled and worked in Tanzania during her residency. She is currently completing a stroke fellowship at Foothill’s Medical Centre.
When Kimia isn’t working, you can find her traveling, visiting museums, going to concerts, or spending time with family.
