Dr. Alex Wasserman

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Dr. Alex Wasserman completed his Kinesiology and Health Sciences degree at York University, after which he worked as a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists-certified personal trainer in Calgary. He then attended the University of Toronto medical school, graduating in 2016. After five years of subspecialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Manitoba, he pursued further training focused on advanced ultrasound guided diagnostic and interventional procedures in Edmonton, Alberta. He is also a Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists - certified electromyographer.⁠ ⁠ 

 

Dr. Wasserman’s academic interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound’s applications in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, the use of orthobiologics and radiofrequency technology to decrease pain and increase function, as well as electrodiagnostic medicine. He is published in peer reviewed journals through his work in stroke rehabilitation and the application of platelet-rich plasma in various knee disorders.⁠ ⁠ 

 

In his free time, Dr. Wasserman continues to actively explore the great outdoors, travel the world, golf, and expand his culinary horizons.
